The team has arrived and is ready to go for our first week of ministry here in Pensacola,FL.
This week we will be partnering up with 3 different ministries:
The Haven-The Haven is an assisted living home where we will be playing bingo and visiting with the elderly. We will be bringing in music to play as well as games to help build relationships with the folks there as well.
Loaves and Fishes-Loaves and Fishes is a ministry that has many parts. They have a soup kitchen where they feed at least one meal a day to the homeless community as well as a thrift store where the homeless are welcome to shop. The proceeds from the thrift store fund a family shelter. This shelter is unique as they are the only one from Mobile, AL to Tallahassee,FL that will take in families with children. All other shelters will take the adults but not the children. Our team will be working in the thrift store and ministering to the families at the shelter, sharing bible stories and playing games.
Streets and Lanes-Streets and Lanes is a mobile ministry reaching out to the homeless community. They visit camps that the homeless have set up handing out food donations as well as personal items. Our team will go out into these camps and focus on building relationships with the homeless community. Letting them know that God loves them and cares for them deeply.
We are so excited to have our first team here to kick off ministry in this new location. Please be praying for us that we would build personal relationships by sharing the kingdom of God here. We are believing and trusting that His great love can bring change to this city.
